Yin Yoga: (All Levels & beginners) Yin Yoga is complementary yoga practice to active yoga styles and fitness routines. Floor postures are held passively for several minutes to release long held restriction in the deeper layers of connective tissue in the body. Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Energetically, we address the meridians and emotional stresses in the body. The practice emphasis is stillness, silence and peace of mind. Available with Michele
Yin Yoga + Massage: (Suitable for beginners) A natural healing practice that uses static, elongating poses that are held for several minutes. Yin postures gently stretch and rehabilitate the connective tissues that form our joints and helps to maintain flexibility. This practice can bring balance to an overly “yang” or active lifestyle leaving you with a feeling of calmness. Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga,Thai Massage and traditional western massage techniques are woven into the yoga practice. (class size 6) 90 minute class, Pre-register, space limited. Available with Michele.
Restorative Yoga: Enables one to return to a natural state of balance physically, mentally, and emotionally allowing the body to open through passive stretching. Restorative Yoga is the practice of placing the body into a Yoga pose (asana) using the support of props such as blankets, blocks, pillows, bolsters, or chairs. These poses hold and maintain the position of the body as physical and mental tension dissolves and melts away. In this supported state, the asana can be held for a longer period of time which facilitates a state of deeper relaxation allowing for the innate intelligence of the body to reintegrate the system to its natural state of balance and peace. Restorative poses can benefit all Yoga practitioners regardless of one’s level of Yoga practice. 75min
Meditation Classes: Guided Meditation- This is a 50 minute guided meditation class. Everyone can benefit from taking time out to rest the mind; this facilitates healing of the mind, body and spirit. Chairs and floor seating available. Available with Jennifer Ruth Segar.
